The Mire or The Liberation

It has often been said that “God is in the details“.  Then again, I have also heard it said that the “Devil is in the details“.  Either way, details are critical sticklers demanding our attention most often at a time when we haven’t the sufficient inclination to dedicate ourselves adequately.

So why is this important and how does it relate to Infinite Potentiality Theory (IPT)?

Inevitably, there has been an occasion you’ve experienced when the details made it a fantastic success or a bumbling disaster.  As a result, you either learn from the experience or repeat the error.  The same can be said of a personal encounter in which the detail(s) of the other’s demeanor, character, or aesthetic set you off amicably or abrasively.  From the encounter, you might also find yourself gaining that much more insight into your own tastes, preferences, and/or personality.

The point is, details exist in the realm of other.  They are external to the self.  At the same time, they touch very closely upon the realm of self as they are so generated.  Above all, they are one in a myriad factors with very real and direct influence and effect on us.  Whether they help us with our own self-discovery or help our navigation through our everyday experiences, details mediate self-other phenomenological experiences.  They exist in the metaphysical other and yet, are very intimately ‘attached’ to the phenomenological self.

As it relates to IPT, the proposed qualitative ontological paradigm shift from the phenomenological-metaphysical to infinite creative potentiality (ICP)-ultimate freedom (UF) also proposes a corresponding shift from the role played by details to that of creativity.  By so doing, the individual is better positioned to transition to the realm of UF of and from the self and all related (phenomenological) fetters.  While details are sufficiently effective in the former paradigm, creativity is pivotal to the latter paradigm.

Given a choice whether to get caught in the mire of details or to be empowered by creativity to an absolute liberation of and from the self, it becomes increasingly clear why the paradigm shift is so proposed.

The mire or the liberation; it is entirely up to you…

In the Self or In the Other

All throughout my book and this blog, I have explained how ultimate freedom (UF) is the end-goal of Infinite Potentiality Theory (IPT).  UF is an absolute liberation of an from the self and all related fetters of the (mundane quotidian) self.  This is a freedom taken from Einstein (please see my post from June 20th “Einstein’s Liberation“):

The true value of a human being is determined primarily by the measure and the sense in which he has attained liberation from the self.”

One of the main reasons UF runs at the heart of IPT is in how it reconciles the self-other duality.  I will explain by way of divergence:

IPT offers a qualitative ontological paradigm shift of dyads from the phenomenological-metaphysical duality to the infinite creative potentiality (ICP)-UF interactive and collaborative interrelationship.  In the former paradigm, the individual is confined to the realm of the self.  In the latter paradigm, the individual is empowered to liberate his self and be free from the self so s/he can be the other in absolute freedom.

In other words, through IPT’s proposed paradigm, the individual reconciles the discrepancies between self and other through an absolute liberation.  This liberation is achieved as soon as s/he realizes creative potentiality.  At the point of realization, s/he ignites the ICP catalyst which is an immeasurably potent burst of energy.  In turn, this released energy contributes directly to the energy of the world’s creative consciousness. The impact and import of this cannot be stressed enough.

Once in that sphere of freedom, s/he can be in the other and by so doing, begin making a meaningful impact and difference for the other.  In this manner then, the key difference between both paradigms lies in this accomplishment: empowering a direct impact on the other in a positively creative and lastingly meaningful way for collective – world – progress.

And so a single pebble begins the ripple until it becomes an infinite wave…

Authenticity in the Public Sphere

When we are authentic, others respond accordingly.  Especially in the public sphere, it becomes increasingly clear when a veil of deception is about to be cast upon us.  Of course, there might be those lacking immediate discernment, but at the end, s/he knows at the gut-instinctual level because it resonates accordingly.  The key is to listen to that resonance with honest receptors.

Authenticity and integrity run at the heart of Infinite Potentiality Theory (IPT) because it is critically necessary that the individual be as true to his self as possible in realizing his creative potentiality.  This inner honesty speaks to his authenticity and mirrors the very core of his essence.  And, as IPT defines it, the essence of essence is ultimate freedom.  In this manner, through his ability to be authentic, he can honestly realize his creative potentiality and by so doing, attain absolute liberation of and from his self.

In ultimate freedom, he exists in a sphere of liberation from and of the self. 

In ultimate freedom, he is liberation.

In liberation, he can be for the other.

…And in this liberation is the key to remove all barriers between self and other…

To understand integrity with absolute clarity, it is important to distinguish it from authenticity.  That is why I juxtapose the two concepts in my book.  In a nutshell, I break it down to the following:

1a) As it applies to an object, authenticity is fidelity of its very essence, substance, fabrication, and origin to it’s creator.  It is authentic as it is genuine.  A popular example is a designer brand as opposed to an (ersatz) imitation of that brand.  The authentic object is the designer one because it is the designer’s own creation; rather than imitating, s/he is creating.  Another example is an authenticated fact, authentic as it is accurate.

1b) As it applies to a subject, authenticity is fidelity to the absolute essence of self.  It is fidelity without judgment, morality, and agency.  It is purity of essence without fetters or encumbrances.

2a) As it applies to an object, integrity is wholeness.  It is verifiable substance without hesitation and with unwavering agreement that holds unity.

2b) As it applies to a subject, integrity is twofold.  It is fidelity to essence in the backdrop of morality and judgment.  Thus, the key difference between integrity and authenticity is integrity’s inherent ethical component.  Such a person upholds a moral standard, acts accordingly, and is so judged – whether by her/himself or by others – as holding to integrity.

Celebration

Infinite Potentiality Theory is a celebration of life at its purest and absolute form qua creative potentiality.  When we are at our best, whether it be an achievement, accomplishment, fulfillment, or the simplest joy, there is a degree of creativity involved in reaching that height.  Take a moment today to observe any accomplishment – even the slightest – and think about the creativity involved.  The experience might offer you a refreshing perspective.  At the very least, it should prove uplifting.

It is always beauteous to behold good things happening to great people.  Recently, a friend shared with me an amazing honor he received from his community.  As a matter of background, he is a very humble, perfectly amazing humanitarian who contributes daily to his community, making a meaningful impact and positive difference through his example.  His profession requires creativity of which he has in spades.

On a grander scale, the honor he received is just one in a myriad examples proving how others really do respond to and recognize the good and positive in others.  Regardless of my optimistic penchant, I truly believe we all want the best for each other and to see their happiness, well-being, and success.  By so doing, we further humanity and shine ever-brightly the beacon of progress to pass on to our future generations.

A celebration of life brings hope-everlasting. 

A celebration of life reinforces the bulwark of creativity at the foundation of the very essence of man. 

A celebration of life fuels ultimate freedom fostering the connection between self and other.

Now, more than ever, it is paramount for each individual to realize his creative potentiality and by so doing, celebrate life, man, and humanity in the present and for the future…

Sense & Consequence

In this currently hypermediated e-globalized world, anonymity is increasingly omnipresent.  The ramifications are startling.  Anonymity becomes a virtual veil allowing the individual a level of remove from his actions, behaviors, and decisions.  This remove enables a sort of desensitization to any resulting consequences s/he would have faced in the erstwhile pre-hypermediated world.

Not convinced?

Let’s take a look at a cross-section of society:

The Media Sphere: With the growing lack of accountability that anonymity fosters, we are left with our current state of ersatz unqualified ‘information’ streaming our media and clogging the pipes of intelligence.  At best, the individual is left with inordinate amounts of data at exponentially lightning speeds designed to make it a near impossibility to ‘consume’ it in its entirety.

The Public Sphere: The public arena is globalized, whether we agree, disagree, acknowledge, or ignore it.  Man has mediated this into his quotidian reality through electronic technologies.  Add to this arena man’s effective agency at the individual level, and we have a veritable powder keg on this playing field.  The action(s) of one has the very real potentiality of affecting all.  The negative ramifications become compounded when anonymity is the umbrella over all this.

The Private Sphere: The demarcation between public and private is dangerously razor thin, especially when the individual can ease into and out of both spheres as easily and as often as he breathes.  Cases in point: tweets, social media forums, ‘reality’ tubing – all with the ease of a few clicks or taps, depending on your e-device of choice.  Another case in point: ‘big brother’ on your local street corner, backyard, or grocery aisle.

The above are a few examples just barely scratching the surface.  The end result is another impetus for the paradigm shift Infinite Potentiality Theory (IPT) proposes.  Remember, IPT argues for a paradigm shift from the phenomenological-metaphysical dyad to an infinite creative potentiality (ICP)-ultimate freedom (UF) collaboration via the powerful ICP catalyst.

In the former paradigm, the phenomenological is the realm of the senses – the a posteriori knowledge Kant agreed is available to man.  It runs counter to the metaphysical realm of the thing-in-itself – the a priori knowledge Kant argues is not available to man.  If we were to go along with Kant then, man is limited to the phenomenological subject-only sensory experience of the world and his reality.  He is forever challenged to circumnavigate the metaphysical from which he is excluded.

Shifting from this paradigm to the ICP-UF collaboration, IPT argues that man is not only privy to both realms, he is an active agent of both as a critical necessity.  Furthermore, rather than a counterpoint dyad, the paradigm is interactively collaborative whereby ICP realized through the ICP catalyst mediates UF.

The so-what factor (SWF) Examined:

Justification for the IPT paradigm shift is in calling for an absolute liberation of and from the self – and all related fetters of the self and of being entirely in the self – the individual is also free from the negative repercussions of the erstwhile paradigm.  Rather than exist in a dualistic counterpoint dyad, s/he flourishes in an interactively collaborative sphere creatively empowered and ennobled with a truly absolute liberation in UF.  No longer is s/he caught in the mire of the a priori trap.  Instead, s/he is absolute liberation.

Of sense and consequence, we opt out for realization in creative empowerment and ennoblement any time, any day!

Perfection vs. Potentiality

And to serve your own mind so that sadness or joy do not sway or move it; to understand what you can do nothing about and to be content with it as with fate – this is the perfection of virtue.”

            — Chuang Tzu, “In the World of Men”

 

Chuang Tzu is the principal character of all four volumes of my books. The reason will become clear upon reading the first volume. Suffice to state that as the precursor to Taoism (ahead of Lao Tzu), he is surprisingly closer akin to Nietzsche in brilliantly subtle ways. Among other distinctive commonalities, they are both marvelous with impressing a meaningfully potent impact to their words.

For the purpose of this post, words is the operative element at play:

From the above statement, Chuang Tzu could be seen as extolling perfection of virtue as a sort of shield of invincibility and symbol of perfect harmony. In a manner, perfection for him is thus man’s ultimate achievement as he becomes the “Perfect Man” he so describes throughout his writings. However, juxtaposing another statement from Chuang Tzu next to his statement above, we could also claim all achievements are fool’s play in this, our “Supreme Swindle”:

And someday there will be a great awakening when we know that this is all a great dream. Yet the stupid believe they are awake, busily and brightly assuming they understand things…how dense! […] Words like these will be labeled the Supreme Swindle

In other words, we could use his own statements to contradict him and this is not uncommon with all his writings.  Indeed, it furthers his point about words being the “Supreme Swindle” and thus, to let them go.  Along this vein, we arrive at the deeper meaning that also intersects with IPT.

For Chuang Tzu, letting go of words – meaning – enables man to attain a level of virtue – perfection of virtue – and thus, a freedom from the worldly. That is how he is able to be content with his own fate, as he states above.  Similarly, IPT argues for an ultimate freedom (UF) of and from the self.  When man is caught up in words and meaning, he is in the self.  When he attains UF, he is in the other.  He is UF.

It is not virtue, or perfection of virtue, but rather potentiality and creative potentiality that is man’s shield of invincibility. It is the ultimate indestructible element defying all boundaries and limitations and as such, is a medium of man’s indestructibility and immortality.  Through creation and the created, man endures and lives on in legacy.

Potentiality is the catalyst and seed that never dies and eternally springs recurrence…it is the unaffected motor that refuses to die. It is the internal machinery blueprint for all, everything, and nothing.  The greatest and purest virtue – the one that is true – is that of realized potentiality.  This virtue is the most direct path towards freedom from the self: the state at which the teachers of virtue have become their highest virtue, necessity for meaning is superfluous and thus, obviated.

Independence and Cohesion

“The health of society thus depends quite as much on the independence of the individuals composing it as on their close social cohesion.”

At first, this bit of irony from Einstein’s statement – calling for independence and cohesion – might seem odd.  It might even be a near impossibility.  After all, how can a society be simultaneously autonomous and unified, let alone closely unified?  Doesn’t unity with others interfere with autonomy?  In other words, within a group – a closely unified group – wouldn’t the actions, behaviors, and decisions of the individuals influence each other thus interfering with the integrity of true independence of those same individuals?

Let’s take a closer look at this through the IPT lens.

IPT proposes a paradigm shift.  In the old paradigm, the irony of Einstein’s statement inhibits its own fruition.  In IPT’s paradigm, it not only makes sense, but also becomes critically necessary as yet another apropos demarcation between the two realities those paradigms represent.

How so?

The current e-reality mediates an endless array of information at exponentially lightning speeds and unmanageably indigestible quantities thus fragmenting the mediasphere and clogging the pipes of intelligence.  Against the backdrop of fragmentation, cohesion becomes increasingly out of reach.  However, within a paradigm where ultimate freedom (UF) is a realizable ‘end-goal’, the individual attains liberation from these ‘fetters’ of the self.  More importantly, within the UF sphere, not only is the individual cohesively in union with freedom, s/he is freedom.

Upon closer inspection then, Einstein’s statement is exactly on-point with IPT.

Einstein, you are a friend, indeed!
